About Me
The Stylist Behind the Vision
I’m Susan, a professionally trained personal stylist and color analyst based in Alexandria, VA, serving women throughout Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, and Maryland, as well as clients nationwide through virtual personal styling and color analysis.
For over 25 years, I’ve helped women navigate some of life’s biggest transitions as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)—from rebuilding after divorce and stepping into new careers to becoming empty nesters and rediscovering themselves after years of caring for everyone else.
Over the years, I realized something powerful: how we feel on the inside often shows up in how we present ourselves on the outside. That
realization inspired Beyond the Closet Edit, a personal styling and image consulting service designed to help women feel confident, authentic, and at home in their personal style.
As an FIT-trained Image Consultant and Certified Color Analyst, I help women create a personal style that feels authentic, flattering, and completely their own. Through personal styling, color analysis, closet edits, wardrobe consulting, and personal shopping, we take the guesswork out of getting dressed and build a wardrobe that works for your body, lifestyle, and personality—not someone else’s rules.
Whether you’re building a business, changing careers, entering a new season of life, or simply tired of standing in front of a closet full of clothes with nothing to wear, my goal is to make getting dressed easierand help you feel more like yourself.
My background as a therapist brings another dimension to my work. I understand that confidence isn’t just about clothing. Body image, self-criticism, and the way we see ourselves can influence what we wear, what we avoid, and even how we show up in the world. I bring that understanding into the styling process with an approach that is supportive, encouraging, and judgment-free.
I don’t believe every woman needs a brand-new wardrobe. I believe she needs to understand what truly works for her—her colors, her
proportions, her lifestyle, and her personality. Because when what you
see in the mirror finally feels like you, getting dressed becomes easier—and showing up confidently does, too.
Style isn’t about perfection. It’s about becoming the most authentic version of yourself—beautiful inside and out.

True style isn't perfection; it's revealing your most authentic self, radiating beauty and confidence from the inside out.
